I would like to create a track, drawing directly on the map. I have success when there are no tracks currently on the map. Using the New track point tool, when I click on the map for the first point, a new track appears in the File manager list, as expected.
But if there are any existing tracks in the File manager list, I haven’t been able to create an additional new track. I use the List tracks function, enter and select a new track and ensure it is the only selected track. Using the New track point tool, I click on the map for the first track point (and additional points) but I do not see a new track in the File manager menu. Instead, the new track points are always added to an existing track, even though it is not selected. Checking the List tracks function, the track points all appear with the newly created track as they should. I have not found a way to save this new track with it’s new track points as a new, separate track.

After drawing the first track, you have two methods to creare a new track. 1. Choose "Select" tool and click on the map to unselect first track, then choose "New track point" tool and draw the second track. 2. Open List track function and add a new track and select it. Then draw the selected second track. If you want insert a point inside a track select the track and then select the point after which you want to insert the new point. File manager shows the opened GPX files (or created new one) so it's correct that show only one file even you have drawn more than one track. |

Thanks for the very fast reply! I likely worded my question poorly. Yes, it works as you indicate; the new tracks are added as a track segment to the existing gpx file. What I was expecting (hoping) was that the new track be in a separate new gpx file, but I guess that is a different question.

No problem. When you have finished to draw the first track click into "File Manager" item "Waypoints, tracks, routes" with right mouse button and choose "New waypoints, routes, tracks file" context menu. Then draw your second track that will be added to the new GPX file. If you click with right mouse button on GPX file in "File manager", you can use "Select waypoints, routes, tracks file" to make current that file and modify its content (list functions operates only on "current" file). Until you don't save your files you'll see "<New file>" wording. I hope this help. |

Perfect! That's the step I was missing. I continue to be impressed! Thanks.
