Hi Gian Paolo,

Just updated from OKMap v10.6.4 to v10.7.2 and noticed an error in the new version. Previously, you could save a map image from File > Save > Map Image, which created a png of the map. In v10.7.2, this results in a blank image (ie no map saved). Am i doing something silly, or is this a glitch?

Glad to see that OKMap just keeps getting better - thanks for your efforts

Regards,

Peter

Hi. With recent versions of OkMap I usually just download the ZIP file from OkMap.org, unzip it with 7zip, and run the installer (and occasionally cleanup my old OkMap files). Works well for me and all preferences and settings are retained. I haven't encountered the problem with File>Save>Map image. Cheers.

Error or blank map?
If is it an error please tell us the exact message you get.
May be a memory problem error.
How much memory has your PC?

I've tried with 4 different maps and various zoom factors, and still get the same error. Its clearly not OKmap or the maps themselves, its some problem with my PC.

EDIT. I did a complete uninstall then reinstalled 10.7.2 - and now it works fine. What a relief, thanks for all your help. I normally simply install the new version over the top of the earlier version - is this your recommendation for okmap, or is it better to uninstall the old version first?

To save in PNG format is enough you specify extension PNG.
Please check your zoom factor before saving image (try 50% and 100%).
I've tested again and 10.7.2 works fine.

Thats really odd - just tried again, and the attached image is what I end up with. It was working fine with v10.6.4. Wonder if I should reinstall 10.7.2?

EDIT 1: Rats I can't get images to upload to the forum - what I see after saving is simply a sand-yellow blank image. Most frustrating. Is there any way of reversing the update, and reverting to v10.6.4? That seemed to work fine for me.

EDIT 2: Oddly, I can get an image from the "Save Map Screenshot" command - I imagine this uses the same processes? Still nothing from "Save Map Image" though

I've saved your map in png format without problem.
Remember to adjust zoom factor before saving your image.
If you want to save at same size select 100% zoom factor.

Thats odd - I must be doing something wrong.

The files are too big to upload on this forum, so I've linked to my Public Dropbox files: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17280395/050k--j42-010-4.gif and http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17280395/050k--j42-010-4.gif.okm.

Thanks

I've done some test and all seems ok.
Please send me your map because I cannot reproduce issue with mine.

Hi Bambleweenie, the new versione of OkMap uses the last versione of FreeImage (a thirdy part software to manage images).
May be there is a problem with this new version.
This week end I'll investigate better and tell you know.
